How We Install Magnetic Screen Doors
1. Frame Preparation
The most common reason magnetic mesh fails is dust. We wipe the perimeter of your door frame with 90% isopropyl alcohol to ensure the adhesive strip achieves a permanent bond, following 3M surface preparation guidelines.
2. Height Calibration
We measure exactly 1/8 to 1/4 inch of clearance above your threshold. This prevents the mesh from dragging on the floor and fraying while ensuring a tight bug seal and meeting ASTM D3656 insect screening specification. 3. Center-Rise Prevention
We mount the top center of the mesh exactly half an inch higher than the top corners. This physics trick forces the two sides of the mesh to pull together, eliminating the gap that often forms in the middle of DIY installs.
