Last time I paid a big-box store for assembly it took two visits and the second guy left a bolt on the floor. This was the opposite. Hydrow set up in the ADU behind our house in Old Palo Alto, screen angled for my height, and he showed me how to stand it upright against the wall when I need the floor back. Thirty minutes, maybe less.

Solid work on a used Life Fitness cable crossover we bought from a gym that was closing. Nothing came with instructions, so they worked it out from the frame itself and got both cable stacks running smoothly. They showed up about twenty minutes after the window but texted ahead. We're a few blocks from Mitchell Park and parking wasn't an issue for them.

Birthday present for my mom, a folding walking treadmill for her condo on Channing Ave. I live in Seattle so I couldn't be there. They called her before coming, set it up in the living room, showed her how to fold it and roll it under the window, and sent me a photo of her on it grinning. That photo alone was worth it.

ordered a bowflex max trainer during a late night impulse and the box was bigger than our hallway in Midtown lol. they came the next morning, had it built in under an hour, and broke down all the cardboard so it fit in the blue bin. zero drama

They assembled our new rower quickly at our Old Palo Alto home. Only wish is that they could have taken the old one away too, we had to arrange that separately.

Our Eichler in Greenmeadow still has the original radiant heat in the slab, so I was not letting anyone drag a 300 lb NordicTrack across it. They laid down moving blankets, rolled it on dollies with soft rubber wheels, and lifted it by hand over the atrium step. When I asked about bolting the treadmill down they said no, not over radiant tubing, and leveled it on its own feet instead. Floors look exactly like they did before. Relief.

This thing came on a pallet!! Force USA G6, around twenty boxes, and I had given myself one weekend to build it. By Saturday noon the base frame was crooked and I had a pile of hardware I couldn't match to the manual. Called them Saturday afternoon, they came Sunday morning, undid what I'd done wrong (most of it), and had the whole trainer standing and cable-tested by 3. The pulleys run smooth and the Smith bar tracks straight. Garage gym in Duveneck is finally real!

New construction always sounds nice until you try to put a gym in the upstairs bonus room. The white oak floors were the thing my wife cared about most, so before anything came up the stairs they laid out 3/4 inch rubber mats and trimmed them around the door casing with a straight edge. Then they carried the Matrix functional trainer up piece by piece and built it on top. We're in University South, lots of these tall narrow new houses around here, and I'd point any neighbor doing the same thing their way. The weight stack is quiet, the mats sit flush, and the floor is untouched.

ok honest review. bought a used Peloton Bike+ off Marketplace and the seller handed it over in pieces, and the screen mount alone has like four tiny cables. third floor walk-up in Downtown North and he carried the frame up without scraping the stairwell once. works perfectly

I had a baby in January and getting to a gym just wasn't happening, so a treadmill at home was the plan. My husband travels for work and I couldn't lift anything heavy yet. They built the Horizon treadmill in the corner of our playroom in the Community Center neighborhood, ran the cord along the wall so the toddler can't grab it, and moved the safety key clip up out of her reach. Little things like that are why I'm writing this. Back to running three mornings a week.

I'd never heard of anyone around here owning a Speediance, so I was half expecting them to show up and shrug. Nope. They'd clearly built one before, had the arms on and the software updated in about forty minutes, and set it against the one wall in our Evergreen Park bungalow that isn't a window.

My husband and I argued for two weeks about whether we could put the X22i together ourselves. We could not have. The motor base alone needed two people and a hand truck, and the incline arms have to line up while the whole deck is tilted. We'd booked R8Works for the TV in our living room last year and they did a good job, so when the home gym boxes started piling up in our Monroe Park duplex off El Camino I called them again. He built the adjustable bench, the dumbbell stand and the wall pulley system, and when I asked if the pulley could go on the wall we share with our neighbor, he suggested the opposite wall so the cable noise wouldn't carry. Hadn't even thought of that. Everything is solid and quiet.

The exposed beams in our Fairmeadow Eichler are the whole reason we bought the house, so I was nervous about hanging a pull-up bar from one. He checked the beam spacing, explained he'd lag into the beam itself and not the tongue-and-groove boards between them, and showed me the pilot holes before driving anything. Then he built the REP rack and bench underneath it. The bar holds me doing kipping pull-ups and from across the room the beam looks untouched.

In forty years in this house off Waverley I've had plenty of tradespeople through the door, and I can usually tell in the first five minutes who knows what they're doing. The R8Works fellow was one of those. He took apart the old Nautilus machine that has been in the back room since the 80s, set the pieces out by the side gate for the scrap pickup, and built the new treadmill in the same spot. He noticed the floor there dips a little, old house, and adjusted the rear feet so the belt tracks straight. Fine work.

Three things I liked. One, they asked what else lives in the garage before deciding where the rack should go, so the car still fits. Two, they found the one stretch of slab that wasn't cracked to anchor into. Three, they left the spare bolts in a labeled bag instead of taking them. Rack, bench and a landmine attachment in Adobe Meadow, about two hours total.

Found them through a neighbor on the Barron Park email list. I was putting together a surprise home gym for my wife before the holidays, an AirBike, an adjustable bench and a dumbbell rack, and it all had to happen in one afternoon while she was at work. Our Palo Verde ranch has a sunken den, two steps down, and that's where my husband wanted his WaterRower. They built it in the garage where there was room, carried it down into the den in one piece so the wood never got dragged on the tile, then filled the tank to the right line and dropped in the purification tablet. It looks like a piece of furniture in there.

Arrived 8:58 for a 9:00 slot, which already won me over. We wanted the power rack anchored in the family room of our Eichler near East Meadow, and in an Eichler that means drilling into a slab full of radiant tubing. He had us turn the heat up an hour ahead, then used a thermal camera to map the warm loops across the floor, marked them with blue tape, and anchored only where there was clear slab between the lines. Rack was built and torqued by noon. He also took a photo of the taped floor for us, which is now our map for anything we ever drill in that room.

We moved out of our Leland Manor house in November and the thing I dreaded most was taking down the Bowflex home gym, all those cables and pulleys. They had it apart in about an hour and a half, photographed every cable route before unthreading it, and bagged the hardware by step. Texted me the photos too. The movers loaded the pieces the next day and I rebuilt it myself at the new place using those pictures. Worked first try.

Getting a Precor elliptical up the staircase of a 1905 Professorville house is not a job I'd wish on anyone. The stairs are narrow and turn halfway up, and the banister is original. They took the whole machine apart downstairs, carried it up in pieces and rebuilt it in the back bedroom. Not a scratch on the banister or the plaster. It ran about 45 minutes past their estimate, which is why four stars and not five, but honestly I'd rather they take their time on those stairs.

We set up a small fitness room for the team at our office in Stanford Research Park, two treadmills, a rack and a set of dumbbells. They worked around our schedule and came in after 5 so nobody's calls got interrupted. Everything was built and the boxes were gone by the time I got in the next morning.

My son runs cross country at Gunn and wanted a treadmill for the rainy weeks. They came that same evening with a pallet jack and a ramp for the garage lip, got it inside without touching the new epoxy floor, attached the handrails and console, and shimmed one corner because our slab slopes toward the door like every garage does. I run on it every morning now and it doesn't rock at all. That evening call-out saved our week.

Muy profesionales. They put together my elliptical and my daughter's spin bike in our apartment by the California Ave Caltrain station and were so patient explaining the consoles to both of us.

I'm 78 and my knee surgeon wanted me on a recumbent bike every day. My daughter ordered a Sole recumbent and had it shipped to our place in Crescent Park. The young man who came set it up in the sunroom, adjusted the seat for my height and walked me through the console twice without making me feel slow. Took about an hour.
